DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL FOR OUR TEQUILA FRONT-LINER ROOSTER ROJO

Our tequila front-liner Rooster Rojo tequila brought home its first Double Gold medal! For the 6th competition in a row, we are showing excellent performance and we’re not planning to stop!

100 judges from the biggest and most prestigious spirits and wine competition in China, CWSA (China Wine & Spirits Awards), recognized our outstanding and high-quality tequila. Rooster Rojo Reposado was awarded with Double Gold medal, the Anejo version received the important Gold medal and Rooster Rojo Blanco got Bronze!

The CWSA is the major springboard for wines and spirits entering into China and for brands already selling in the fastest growing market in the world. All CWSA judges were carefully selected for being the top buyers of wines and spirits for this market and are importers, distributors, retailers and sommeliers’. Wines and spirits entered from 55 countries and were ‘blind tasted’. From the highest price points to the lowest, wines and spirits are tasted at price levels. Medals are awarded to represent ‘Best Value’. Best quality for the price is a crucial indicator for sales success.

“Along with thorough craftsmanship and attention to every detail from agave selection to distillation techniques, innovation has played an important role for the final result. For the first time in the industry’s history, water that’s used for tequila blending is filtered through Mexican silver; it makes Rooster Rojo taste softer and smoother. Latest rewards show that industry experts have recognised Rooster Rojo as a superior tequila that captures the essence of Mexico,” said Global Brand Director of Rooster Rojo tequila, Mantas Zlatkus.

What do you know about Rooster Rojo?

Rooster Rojo® tequila is produced at Fabrica de Tequilas Finos distillery, located in the city of Tequila, Jalisco state of Mexico, at the foot of Tequila hill. The plant started its operations in the year 2000, but is located in a beautiful old colonial building of 1923.

Rooster Rojo tequila is produced using only 100% Blue Weber agave. Agave comes from Los altos de Jalisco and Tequila region. The pinas, which arrive at the factory, are cut in parts of 2 or 4. We don’t use a diffuser – cooking is done in autoclaves with a help of the steam for 10 hours. Special yeast is added to the juice. It’s been used since the beginning of the factory operations and is a well-kept secret of the master distiller. Fermentation lasts up to 72 hours before the liquid can be distilled. Double pot distillation is made in stainless steel pot stills that allow the preservation of natural flavours of the highest quality 100% agave. Reposado tequila is matured in big French oak casks for at least 2 months. Añejo is matured in 200-liter used American oak bourbon casks for more than 12 months.
